Eva Svobodová handles transactions with the same success that she handles horses, according to her boss

Eva Svobodová, a specialist in the area of capital markets, was appointed a partner at law firm White & Case, at the beginning of the year.

She joined White & Case in 2005 and since then she has become an expert in capital markets and collective investment both on the domestic and foreign markets.

Most of her significant clients are financial institutions acting as issue arrangers or lead managers, including Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital, Morgan Stanley and Česká spořitelna from the domestic market. She has also represented energy giant ČEZ and rail operator České dráhy.

Svobodová said that the demand for funds is increasing and issuers are searching for them on the capital markets. ‘One cannot offer the clients the same products as five years ago.’

“In terms of transactions, we can observe a significant deviation from conservative methods. One cannot offer the clients the same products as five years ago. Our innovative approach to seeking funds can be demonstrated in the recent municipal bonds issue secured by real property and redemption funds, which we performed for clients of Česká spořitelna.  This was the first transaction of this kind in the Czech Republic,” she said in a press release.

Svobodová is a member of the Czech Bar Association (ČAK) and the New York State Bar. “Eva is able to handle transactions on the capital markets with the same success the she handles her horse in dressage, a royal discipline, to which she dedicates her leisure time,”Květoslav Krejčí, senior partner and co-head of White & Case’s capital markets practice, said in a press release.

White & Case established its Prague office in 1991 and has more than 70 lawyers and tax advisers. It focuses on mergers, acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, complex bank and financial transactions, real property investments, privatization projects, litigation and direct investments.
