Czech Position threw a party at its headquaters on Dec. 2 to celebrate the launch of the website www.czechposition .com / www.ceskapozice.cz — and get better acquainted with the publication’s neighbors in the Schwarzenberg Palace in central Prague.

“I welcome you as fellow rent-paying tenants,” said honored guest Václav Havel, whose office is in the same elegant complex, before tucking in to the Italian buffet.

Apart from the former Czech president, guests included Nigel Atkins, a partner of the company Atkins a Langford Development, which manages properties in the Scwarzenberg family estate.

When looking for a home for the future publication this summer, Czech Position’s management immediately ruled out modern office complexes.

Editor-in-Chief Istvan Léko and Deputy Editor-in-Chief Kateřina Menzelová were quick to decide upon the space in Scwarzenberg Palace after scouting out six offices with an agent from an international real estate firm.

The space in the recently reconstructed building — which for decades served as a local post office — had an immediate appeal, and comfortably houses the staff of 30-strong team of journalists, marketing, technical and administrative staff.
