Czech football captain and Arsenal midfielder Tomáš Rosický has joined the national squad at their training camp in Austria following an injury scare.

Rosický joined the group at Bad Waltersdorf on Tuesday following a check up in Prague following a calf muscle strain. News of the strain sparked fears that the injury prone player, who was sidelined for his club and country for nearly a year-and-a-half following a previous muscle problem, amd midfield strategist would miss the 2012 European Championships being hosted by Poland and Ukraine.

Rosický’s arrival coincided with a hospital visit for Michal Kadlec, the Bayer Leverkusen left back whose nose was broken at the end of April by two youths who attacked him outside a disco in Cologne. He had been wearing a protective mask in training.

Goalkeeper Petr Čech, one of the heroes of Chelsea’s Champions League win on Saturday night against Bayern Munich, which was celebrated in the streets of London Monday, is due to arrive at the Austrian camp on Wednesday.

The Czech Republic is in the same opening group as Poland, Russia and Greece after coming through the qualifying campaign with an unconvincing string of results including a controversial  draw against their main rivals for the second place spot, Scotland.

The Czechs are due to play a friendly against Hungary in Prague on June 1 before travelling to Poland on June 3 ahead of the first Euro 2012 match.
