After seeing foreign clubs line up to buy the players, Czech reigning football champions Viktoria Plzeň are now facing the prospect of their manager being attracted abroad by a big transfer offer.

Polish newspaper Przeglad Sportowny reported on Thursday that the top Polish league club Wisla Krakov would like to tempt Czech manager Pavel Vrba to join them; the Czech daily Lidové  Noviny later reported that Viktoria Plzeň owner Tomáš Paclík had confirmed the Polish interest.

The Polish sports paper maintains that the offer from Wisla Krakov could triple Vrba’s salary at the west Bohemian club.

After steering Plzeň to win its first ever Czech championship last season, Vrba has piloted the team through a creditable Champions League group campaign in which they secured third place and a place in the latter stages of the Europa League.

Vrba’s name is also being linked to the position of Slovak national manager and with Czech club Slavia Prague, although it only recently switched managers. Vrba said last month that he did not count on leaving Plzeň.

Before arriving at Plzeň in 2008, Vrba managed two Slovak clubs and was also assistant manager of the Slovak national team between 2006 and 2008.

German Bundesliga club Wolfsburg are currently seeking to sign up Plzeň midfielder Petr Jiráček, who took at fitness test with the club on Wednesday. The German club earlier targeted on loan attacker Václav Pilař.
