Gazprom boss Alexei Miller, head of E.ON Ruhrgas Klaus Schäfer, Total vice president Michael Borrell and 300 other representatives of the European and global oil and gas sector are to meet in Prague for the European Business Congress (EBC) on June 2 and 3.
A central theme of this year’s EBC conference will be ecological challenges in the energy sector. President of the Norwegian state-controlled oil and gas major Statoil, Jan-Helge Skogen, will deliver an address on limiting emissions during oil and gas extraction; CEO of Russian state-controlled Gaprom, Alexei Miller, will speak about new trends in the gas industry, and the head of Shell in Russia, Charles Watson, will talk about myths surrounding natural gas.
The congress will culminate in a gala event at Prague Castle organized by E.ON Ruhrgas and Gazprom.
The European Business Congress was founded in Bonn, Germany, in 1997 to support and expand cooperation between the members of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Alexei Miller of Gazprom is currently the president of the congress and Tessen von Heydebreck, an advisor to Deutsche Bank on central and eastern European issues, is the vice president.
