The Czech woman at the center of lawyer Ed Fagan's Swiss moves to block bank accounts and deposit boxes he maintains could lead to Nazi reserves says his claims about her are lies

A Czech woman at the center of US lawyer Ed Fagan’s move to block Swiss bank accounts and safe deposit boxes, which he claims could lead to Nazi reserves stashed at the end of WWII, has described his claims about her as “lies.”

Marta Juráňová gave her reactions in an e-mail after publication of the article ‘US lawyer seeks Swiss action over Czech  ‘ransom’ of Nazi reserves.’ Attempts to contact her and get her reaction, or that those who were claimed by Fagan to represent her, before publication were unsuccessful. One law office said that the person concerned was outside Prague.

‘I do not know Fagan, I have never met with him and given this person’s reputation I do not want to have anything to do with him.’

Juráňová consented to Czech Position publishing the contents of her reaction in full: “I will now deal with you only through the Czech Police —I have given ‘notice of reasonable suspicion of the criminal act of defamation’ given what you wrote about me on czechpostion.com. I do not have anything to say to you — I do not know Fagan, I have never met with him and given this person’s reputation I do not want to have anything to do with him. I do not understand how you could damage me in such a way by writing such lies, without you having any proof of what he was claiming.”

Fagan claimed attempts were made to sell off details of the accounts and safe deposit boxes, saying he was acting in the public interest to safeguard what he described as public property which should be used to compensate Nazi victims and their descendents.
