Němečtí radikální islamisté, především z řad salafistického hnutí, stále častěji odcházejí bojovat do syrské „svaté“ války.
Kam zmizela brutálně rychlá muzika, frenetický řev zakódovaný do hadrů? Slyšíte jen kecy celebrit. Nestýská se vám po upřímnosti?“ ptá se Jana Máchalová.
Currently, sex education is taught in Czech schools along with a few related subjects, such as biology. A small but influential advocacy group, the Committee for the Defense of Parental Rights (VORP), which helped stop the country’s first-ever guidebook on the subject from being part of the national curriculum, argued before the Senate on Tuesday that there can be no “uniform approach” to teaching children the facts of life.
A report to the Czech government calls for the much criticized option of surgical castration for sex offenders to be retained, though it points to stricter conditions for performing the irreversible operation and more study of the procedure’s effectiveness as a treatment compared with other options. The Czech Republic has been the target of mounting pressure from European human rights watchdog, the Council of Europe, to ban the controversial practice.
Already in the 1990s, Prague had become a famous – or perhaps infamous — destination for stag parties and sex tourists. Today, the side streets of Wenceslas Square are riddled with bordellos catering to straight and gay men alike. But while sex clubs continue to do a brisk business largely thanks to the tourist trade, prostitution has steadily moved into the living rooms of private residential apartments, to cater to Czech clients.
The appearance of prostitutes selling sex in windows in the center of Prague has shocked local residents in an already tacky district, but police and local officials say they have few measures at hand which can counter the new phenomenon.
Sex workers in countries such as Germany are starting to specialize in elderly and disabled clients, who often have special needs due to their ailments. Some brothels have become handicapped-accessible and some nursing homes are considering setting up special rooms. The trend has yet to reach the Czech Republic, where health insurers scoff at the idea.
An initiative by a group of young Czechs seeking to boost the country’s flagging political culture is calling on supporters to pledge a sex strike in order to convince lawmakers to push through a long demanded change to their immunity from prosecution. The change would curb lifetime immunity and replace it with protection for lawmakers’ period in office.
Czech police have charged six Nigerians with human trafficking and forgery offenses after breaking up a gang which brought at least 25 young girls into the country and forced them to work at prostitutes. The gang, headed by a woman, is said to have used violence and the threat of black magic to keep the girls obedient and deter them from seeking help.
